My ipod is in sync with another computer and i want to download tunes from this computer iam using now it is an acer laptop and it keeps telling me i cant do it. i do not want to lose what is on my ipod at...

Sorry, but Apple has a "funny" way to keep things complicated sometimes... try this:

Connect the iPod, and minimize the iTunes.

Go to My Computer, and you should see you iPod appear as a seperate disk drive. You should be able to navigate inside the ipod and find your tunes. You can either drag and drop from the new computer to your iPod (technically not a sync), and then reverse the process when you go back to your old computer (then add them from your harddrive like normal). If you attempt to sync with the new computer, it will wipe all the songs off and start fresh...

WARNING! The songs on the new computer may be copy-protected, if purchased from iTunes Online. In that case, you will not be able to play them on your iPod without first stripping the copyright from them. Unfortunately, I cannot post how to do that here, but it is possible.

Hope that helps!

My Ipod doesn't show up on Tune Tools

Hi,

Try Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.

Music no longer on ipod

What youve probably done is unselected the playlists that was previously on your ipod so you could sync the new playlists. By doing this the ipod would automatically delete the old songs off your ipod and then sync the new ones. I'm guessing youve managed to upload new songs onto your ipod?

It could also be your using a different computer and by syncing the ipod to a new computer it would automatically delete previous playlists.

I suggest using a programme called sharepod where you dont need to use itunes and is much more simpler. The link is below.

Grays songs in ipod when connected to Computer

You need to set your iPod to update manually, instead of syncing automatically when you plug it into the computer.

To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, and on the iPod info screen that pops up in iTunes when your iPod is connected, click "Manually Manage Files."
You'll now have to click and drag your songs from your library to your iPod, but now you can also play songs on your computer directly from your iPod and delete songs from your library without deleting them from your iPod at the same time.

Hope this helped!
