During ROM upgrade, make sure that your phone battery is at least 50% charged. Automatic standby and hibernation are disabled in computer, and close all running programs. You cannot upgrade Windows 6.5 phones to Windows Phone 7 as it is not backwards compatible.
If you are attempting it I assume this means you are trying to Root the phone, in which case, if it has caused a problem, aside from resetting it if you can you have probably broken it and in the process voided the warranty. Contact HTC for clarification however you may need to purchase a new handset.

You must intall either ActiveSync (if your PC has Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (in case it has Vista or 7). You can download any of them from this location.

Well for your information microsoft wm 7 so far is not coming to Htc hd2. But if you want to enable the 567MB Ram then you have to flash your phone with the After market cooked roms. You can go on xda-developers.com and click on the forums choose Htc hd2 and then rom developments. If you need any futher help let me know thanks.
