It seems that you have to update the software of HTC HD2 Smartphone. HTC provides Rom Upgrade in which it completely replaces the built - in software in the phone. Rom upgrade in the HTC HD2 Smartphone extends its features, imroves its performance which makes it easy to use.

During ROM upgrade, make sure that your phone battery is at least 50% charged. Automatic standby and hibernation are disabled in computer, and close all running programs. Do not disconnect your HTC HD2 Smartphone from your computer while the phone software is being updated. If
you disconnect the HTC HD2 Smartphonee during the software update, it may become
unusable.
You cannot upgrade Windows 6.5 phones to Windows Phone 7 as it is not backwards compatible.
If you are attempting it I assume this means you are trying to Root the phone, in which case, if it has caused a problem, aside from resetting it if you can you have probably broken it and in the process voided the warranty. Contact HTC for clarification however you may need to purchase a new handset.
You must intall either ActiveSync (if your PC has Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (in case it has Vista or 7). You can download any of them from this location.
Hope it works for you.

Carlos
