No Audio Output Device Installed

If you have visited the Toshiba website and downloaded and installed the latest drivers from there, then I would suggest that the on board Audio controller is defective and should be replaced. Check your guarantee and see if it can be returned to dealer/maker for repair.

My pc says no audio output device installed, but in device manager it says its working properly and the drivers are up to date

Well it is possible that the audio driver installed is not the one compatible with you computer board. Try downloading the specific driver needed for your computer's official website. This should solve your problem.

I have a message saying that "no audio output device is installed." I would really love to have my sound back.

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa!

Please try to reinstall the audio driver.

  • You can do this by using the drivers disc that came with the computer or you can download the audio driver from the computer manufacturer's website (example: support.hp.com)

I dont have any sound, I got a message bottom right corner when I click on speaker icon "No Audio Output Device is installed" I think I need drivers for X-220 speakers, I can't find them...

You don't need a driver for the speakers, but a driver for the sound card installed inside your computer. If the computer came with that sound card then you can find the proper driver from the manyfacturer website -> Support section.

Sound drivers need to be reinstalled sometimes after iTunes updates or video game installs.
