I don't think you can change the pi value on your calculator. However, what you can do is store 3.14 in the memory and instead of using the pi key, recall the number from the memory key.
How to use the various memory keys is outlined in the manual.
The calculator has two input modes: MathIO and LineIO. In mathIO results can be fractions or radicals (if you are calculating roots), and PI appears as PI. The final result may not be a decimal number. To convert such a result into its decimal approximation you press the key marked [S<>D]
The calculator has two Input/Output Modes: The MathIO and LineIO modes. Line IO is the old input mode where all symbols are written on a single line. MathIO permits fractions to show as they would in a textbook (a horizontal fraction bar and two squares, one on top and the other at the bottom. Pi can be used as Pi and irrational square roots are displayed with the root symbol. etc,, If you are in MarhIO and you get a result with fractions, radicals, or pi. you can readily convert it to its decimal approximation by pressim the SD key. If you enter some expression with fractions and radicals and you do not want the result displayed with fractions or radicals you press SHIFT = instead of =, Now if you do not care to have ANYTHING displayed as a fraction, radical or with PI, just set the IO mode to the old LineIO. To effect that, press SHIFT MODE to enter the SETUP. Select 2:LineIO. From that moment on you will no longer see a fraction, nor a radical nor PI, e,
If you ever reset the calculator, the MathIO mode will be restored as default IO mode.
xth-root is the shifted function of the key just below and right of the big round cursor pad. * is the multiply key / is the divide key pi is the shifted function of the x10^x key in the middle of the bottom row
BTW there's no "square root" in this problem. There's a "cube root" or "third root". Square root is the second root.
Well, 42pi is the result of multiplying 42 by pi, isn't it? In the default MthIO mode the calculator strives to display as many results symbolically as possible.
To convert a single result to decimal, press SD. To have all results come out in decimal, press SHIFT MODE 2 to select the LineIO mode.
Sorry but you cannot do that. This is not a graphing calculator. However you can generate a table of values for your function (MODE TABLE) and use it to graph the curve by hand (pencil and paper).
If you need a Casio graphing calculator, one of the cheaper ones is the Casio FX-9750GII. Equivalent Texas Instruments calculators are the TI83PLUS/TI84PLUS.
