There is dust & ink build up on the printer head. Take it apart. Wipe it off by hand with print head cleaner & lint free cloth.

SOURCE: MP460 printer--problem w/ envelopes

You seem to have clogged nozzles/printhead. Take out cartridges, do a thorough clean down where cartridges sit, the printhead, even the roller as well. Run your printers own cleaning maintenance before you do it manually with cleaning solution. Problem should be gone when you reinsert cartridges. Don't froget to reset ink levels and cartridges. good luck!!!

I've had the printer for about 18 months with no problems. I need to print envelopes for the first time, and can't figure out how to do it. Any help out there?

Load the envelope against the right side of the back paper tray.
Load with the address side facing UP and the rear flaps DOWN on the left.
Pinch the Paper Guide and slide it against the left side of the envelope.
Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the right, return to the left after finishing printing.
The Paper Thickness Lever is located inside where the paper come out of printing.
Specify the settingin the printer driver.
Select Envelope in Media Type
Select DL Env. or #10 Env.
Select Landscape in Orientation.

Envelope jam HP Officejet 8500

Hi,

Try to print envelope through Microsoft Word

Steps:-

1) Click Tools , click Letters and Mailings and then click Envelopes and Labels .
2) Type the Delivery and Return address information.
3) Click Options .
4) On the Envelope Options tab, set the following options:-
  • Envelope size : set to match the loaded envelopes.
  • US only : if desired, select the Delivery point barcode to make it easier for mail sorting machinery to correctly route the envelope.
  • Return address : for Size 10 envelopes only, set the Return Address position .8 inch in the From left section.
5) Select the Printing Options tab and verify that the following settings are selected:
  • Select the Feed Method option that shows the envelope on the far right side with the short edge first.
  • Select Face down .
  • Examine the selected feed method image and verify that the envelope flap is on the left side of the envelope. If it is on the right, select or deselect Clockwise rotation.
6) Click OK and then click Print .

As envelop can not feed correctly every time, it depends on the weight, flap design, paper type and other factors & cause jam, To prevent those you can do.
  • Print envelopes at a higher quality setting so envelope is pulled through the unit more slowly. e.g:- Switch fast to slow mode or slow to best mode.
  • Tuck the flap inside the envelope before loading it into the printer.

Have a nice day...don't forget to rate the solution.

Try printing address on envelope with MS Word as it has the facility under Tools/Envelopess where it will store the 'from address'

Both addresses are fully ajustable ie. left or right, up or down - no doubt there are other programmes for your purpose.

Thanks
I usually print the 'from' address in the top left hand corner on the
DL sized envelopes

PIXMA 830 Smudges when printing envelopes

On my MP780, be careful to select the appropriate paper type; I was getting black smudges on the left side of my envelopes until I explicitly set that my paper type was "envelope" from "plain paper".
Another idea is to adjust the "ink drying wait time" to a higher level.

Printing return address on #10 24lb regular envelope

Are you free hand addressing or are you using "Word - envelopes and labels" tool. It should be goof free. If you are, check the pull down rollers on that end of the printer for damage or contamination. When you lift up the cover like you're installing a new cartridge, you should see the black rollers. Clean them with a q-tip and alcohol, wiping across while rolling it with your finger. If you're not using Word, pull down the tools tab and select letters and mailings, then envelopes and labels.
