You need to pull your spark plug and check that cylinder is not hydrolocked with fuel or oil first, then with plug out see if it will pull the motor over or pull out any farther than it did before. If everything is good there, I would check underneath the deck and see if you can spin the blade by hand,(make sure your spark plug is still out for safety) next I would pull the rewind top off motor and visually inspect the Flywheel and coil gap and look for something possibly binding or catching on the flywheel, I think that model has a flywheel brake, maybe that is not adj. correct.....good luck hope I gave you some ideas, If by chance the cylinder is full of gas..replace needle and seat in carb.

Was running stopped. Starting pull cord only moves a couple of inches then feels like engine gets locked.

indications are that the ring has seized or broken in the cylinder

check the oil/fuel ratio in use as it may be a bit on the lack of oil side

Bought a McCulloch M3414 started okay yesterday wont start today maybe I flooded it, pulled cord so many times

1. set on/off switch to on, 2.prime it first, push the bubble about 6x 3. pull the choke all the way out, 4.pull trigger and string simultaneously 5. push in choke halfway try again, pull choke back out and etc. should start after repeating steps 4 and 5 3x or 4x when it does start, pump the gas at half choke then let it idle untill it stops push in choke all the way and it should start. don't forget to check the safety bar in front of the handle usually works with most gas operated tools

My fan was working very well and all of a sudden it stops like it has a shock and when i moves the chord it starts back to work but now it just stop completely and is not workin for like a month now

Hi miahpurplean...

You have a broken electrical cord, it is probably broken inside of the fan.
Not too big of a problem...take fan apart, cut about 6 inches of the cord off from where it was attached to the fan and reattach the new wires that you exposed when you trim the plastic from the cord (about 1/4 inch).
Your fan should work again after this.

The pull start cord will only move about 3-4 inches and then it stops and then cord stops, Troy built- Briggs/Statton 21 inch self-propel lawnmower.

The mower's drive shaft may need to be lubricated. If you turn the mower over and try to move the blade by hand (with the mower off, of course) does it move, or is it hard to move? If it's hard to move or it won't move at all, lubricate the shaft by squirting some WD-40, 3-In-1, or other lubricating oil onto the drive shaft where it meets the chassis of the mower. Squirt enough oil to cover the circumference of the drive shaft, then try to spin the blade again. It should at least spin a little bit now. Squirt some more oil and spin the blade again, until the blade spins easily. Then turn the mower back over and try to pull the start cord -- it should pull normally now.

Pull Cord Will Only Pull Out 3-4 Inches Then Sticks

Take it apart as you did before. Look for whatever it is binding. Did you rewind the rope so there is a good amount of tension? If you didn't, then do that . Good luck, Lee

Poulan 16" cannot start...pull cord locked up

Remove the cover, should be 4 screws that holds it on once the 4 screws are loosened the rope could rewind on its own. If not check to make sure the spring is not broken.
