You may need a new "rechargable battery" Only a bonafide watchmaker will probably have the cell you need. Do NOT try a regular battery, won't work!

I have a watch which is solar type and the instructions say that several hours of sunlight will charge the battery but lamps need much longer (1 -2 days!), my watch now is left in a drawer.

If you haven't got instructions for your watch, to check what Casio recommend, you can get them on the net.

You can get instructions from the Casio web site.

Go to the casio web site "casio.com".

Select "support" and the "manuals",
watches;

Accept terms

Select "watch manual archive"

Read the number of the back of your watch and enter it into the search box

MTG 900 SAYING "CHARGE" AND I'VE BEEN PUTTING

I am assuming you are reading the battery charge correctly. If so you need a new rechargable battery. Special battery so it is a little expensive. Make sure the person knows it is a "rechargable battery" you want. A regular battery will not work properly or recharge.

Citizen Aqualand eco drive divers watch.

Give the watch a good charge under a lamp for 24 hours , not close to the lamp so it get real hot.
if it does not hold charge after this i would contact Citizen as the capacitor may be faulty.

Eco-drive BT0054-59E not charging.

I know what the manual says, but I have found that sometimes it can take a few days to charge.
I set mine directly under a UV lamp for at least a day to charge. I have found the PULLing the STEM OUT and setting it under a lamp to charge works the best. Try for a couple days, one day stem out another stem in.
If it still does not charge it may need a new secondary battery.
Citizen offers a good warranty on that secondary battery/ power cell and if it's just a few years old they should replace it for free.
This really is not something you should try to fix yourself as the cells are easy to mess up.
Good luck.

Internal battery seems to have no power

Battery in your watch is called ''CAPACITOR'' and it gets charged by light. The best source, of course, is sunlight and the worst is ordinary lamp.
By placing your watch for a few hours in a sunny window should keep your watch going for about 5 - 7 days.
As this is not happening, you need to replace capacitor. After doing that your watch will keep working and charging as brand new.
Capacitor replacement is not complicated job and any decent watchmaker can do it for you.

New eco drive watch not working

Here's what I do. PULL OUT STEM (for some reason this has helped me charge stubborn watches). With stem pulled out set your watch under a UV lamp or other strong light. May take 24-48 hours under lamp to fully charge.

Can't get new eco drive watch to start!

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries.
I started collecting a couple of watches and I noticed sometimes a jeweler replaces them with an ordinary battery. The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes! In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types.
Okay, if you say your battery goes bad, or the watch does not run? It may have lost the charge over time. First thing to try is to leave it on the window sill so the dial is in the sun. It will start ticking, but please leave it out there for 3 days to a week. The seconds hand will tick irregularly in steps of one and two seconds, to show you it wants you to readjust the time, as it knows it has lost time. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly.
The seconds hand should run in single second steps, if it takes steps regularly, but every 3 seconds or so, it tries to tell you that its power level is going down. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.
Charging the battery under a lamp is possible, however this heats up the watch and this may reduce battery life.
If you need to know more about the Eco Drive, look for detail tech manuals for all types here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/tech/tech.htm
Those are great watches as long as you remember it needs light to charge.
