On my Mitsubishi WD-82840 DLP TV for the first hour of operation I'm seeing green pixelations in the darkest sections of the image displaying on the TV.

May mean the DLP chip is either not getting the proper level of black signal until the controller board has warmed up, or the DLP chip itself is not completely responding to the controller signals. After thoroughly warming up the problem goes away. This is a sign of aging of the parts. Diagnosing and correcting that type of problem is a challenge. Regards.

Dlp chip after replacing

you will need to pull the chip out & clean out the dust & other foreign particles that were allowed to fall in & lightly brush off the chip (with a very soft brush, again to remove dust & foreign particles.

Specks on screen....when turned on you see specks of light on picture ..looks like from inside the tv ?

Those are referred to as hot pixels. You cannot fix them, the only cure is to replace the DLP module inside the tv, and that's one of the most expensive single parts in your tv.

Hot pixels and totally dead pixels are a common occurrence and to some extent are considered normal, but each manufacturer specifies it's own limits regarding what is acceptable in each area of the screen.

Contact Mitsubishi's service department in your country to find out what those limits are. If your tv has exceeded them then you may be offered a free repair.

I have white and black spots on my 65in hd1080p what is it tv is on 2 years old

Hi, I have a mitsubishi 65" DLP model # 65733 that I bought in December 2007 brand new, about six months ago I started spoting white dots on my screen that started blinking and then became permanent, thinking is was dust I cleaned everything inside with compressed air without success.
The stars multiply daily to a point that it was intolerable to watch anything with all the white stars and a few black ones that showed up.
We called mitsubishi but got no where, I was out of warranty. (they still deny having a problem with their DLP's)

I had a service tech inspect the tv and was told it could run about $800 to $1000 to replace the light engine with refurbished parts with 90 day warranties.

Researching on line I came across a DLP chip that is compatible with several mitsubishi and samsung models, so I decided to chance it, and replace just the DMD chip before we trash the tv, it was unthinkable to pay $800 to repair a tv that we could buy now for under $900.
Thanks God the "gamble" paid out and the problem got solve with just $150 DLP chip in about 15 minutes of my time.
If you are not mechanically nor electronically inclined, I recommend you use a technician for the installation, but don't let anyone tell you you need to replace the whole light engine, it is a ripoff.
If your problem is just white or black dots on the screen that do not move.......this will solve your problem!!

P.S. Hope this will help you and for the record..... "I will never buy a mitsubishi product again".
