DISH Network ViP722 DTV Receiver / 350-Hours Video Recorder Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 04, 2011

I have a ViP722 DTV. I bought a new 52 inch sanyo LCD tv.\r\nI connected my Tv to the reciever using the "HDMI" cable. Programed the remote to run the tv and the DISH. All is fine! EXCEPT!!!! After anywhere from a half hour to 4 hours later the remote will not let you change channels. The only thing that works is the Volume and you can turn it off.. That is it! Its acts like the reciever is locked up. I un plug, and reboot the reciever with no change. The only thing that works is letting it sit overnight. The next day it works till it locks up again. I called the folks at dish, did some remote address changes.. yet the issue remains. I plan on calling DISH tv to come and get there equipment if they wont come out to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

I've had a few battles with Dishnetwork myself anfd the only thing you can do, if you want to keep the service is, 1 Pay a 15.00 fee for them to come out or, 2 Ge them o the phone and they will take you through a diagnostics with you which should end up with them sending you a new receiver in abox that you will put your old receiver in adn return it to them. I paid the 15.00 fee because I refused to go throuh the diagnostics over the phone. I've had mine replaced at least three times. Other than having to deal with them over the phone, I like the service and I had even bigger problems with Directv. If you already have changed your frequencies and that doesn't work, the only other thing you can try is pulling the piece out at the bottom of remote under where it says "dish Networks" and turn it over. The piece does come out. I'm pretty sure they will not let you out of your contract so you will end up with additional fees if you drop the service.

Turn a lite on next to your reciever or in the room where the reciever is located. That worked for me.

bestone890,

Go into the Main Menu. From there go to System Setup (6) -> HDTV Setup (8). Make TV Type 1080i and Aspect Ratio 16x9 and select Done. Your picture should now be showing a HD picture.

My menu says dtv Currently unavailable. How do I use the HD feature on my Olevia LT32HV

Do you have a High Definition cable/satellite reciever or a Blu-Ray player? Does your tv have a HDMI input or component or DVi or all of those? Most newer HD components use the HDMI connection. The HDMI connection is a single cable that has both video and digital audio together. The component connection is a connector with three rca jacks that are red, green, and blue. Audio is connected seperately with this connection via red and green rca audio jacks or a digital audio connector. The last is a DVi connector that is found on computers. Some older HD tvs and components use this connection. There are adapters available to turn a DVi connection into a HDMI connection. So if your TV does not have a HDMI connection but your HD reciever does you can use and adapter but you will not have any audio this way without using a seperate connector for the audio.

When i first turn on the tv it displays the ''Sanyo'' logo and then goes black. I am still getting sound though, but no picture. Sanyo DP19649

First make sure your HDMI cable is connected from the Cable to the TV; then on the TV Menu check the input; should have a choice of items like, Air, Cable, HDMI, Aux...if you do have an HDMI cable connection, select HDMI and indicate which port #; it could be listed like HDMI/DTV 1 or HDMI/DTV 2; good luck

Connecting samsung home theater to samsung lcd tv and direct tv

Need to get more granular on this, Does the volume work HT remote, for like radio, cd, ipod audio? For you to use the tv audio through the HTB the tv's audio settings should be on the "fixed" output option. This gives a line level to the Amp independant of the tvs volume adhjustment. Otherwise you will need to adjust tvs volume 75% or so before the audio amp will reproduce a good volume. Turn down audio amp prior to making any adjustments. Let me know thx

Best way to connect new system

After trying several ways, we decided the best picture was to run the blue ray (out) directly to the TV (in) with an HDMI and another HDMI from the sat. box(out) to TV(in), then optical audio from TV (out) to receiver (in). This way you don't have to change channels on the reciever when switching from TV to DVD. Remember that HDMI is one cable that supports audio and video. If you are using all Samsung products and want to use one remote, using the Anynet feature, I think it has to be connected with an HDMI. I'm going to try connecting an HDMI too from the reciever to the TV to see if this feature will work. It does with the Blue Ray.

How to record from my Sanyo DTV to my Sony Recorder?

first have the video recorder connected to the tv correctly, either coax out, red.white, yellow out, componant out or hdmi.[ see on back of the unit & the tv which connection you used.input selector is also known as video/source/line in or aux, sometimes even game. if there no such button on your remote, scroll down from channel 2 and you should be in some aux input.have the dvd playing, then you should see the video when you get to the right input.
