The closest that you can get to a full factory reset is by doing the following
First: Press the [Machine Status] key
Second: Using the Navigation Keys select [System Admin Tools] and press [Enter]
If the System Admin Tools have already been passcode protected, type in the password and press [Enter]
Third:Select [Clear Memory] using the Navigation Keys and press [Enter]

You May want to click on each of the given options to make sure everything is gone.

Xerox workcentre m20i will not power on. I have unpluged it for 30 minutes then plugged it back in and still will not turn on.

1, When you reset a printer to the factory default version, the system settings restore to the factory mode.
2, Proceed with the forthcoming instructions to resolve the printer using the factory reset option. Close all the print jobs and save your information before resetting.
3, Disconnect the printer from the network/USB connection. Long press the Power button to turn off the printer. Halt for a few seconds and then turn it on.
4, Open the Control Panel Settings menu on the printer. Navigate to the bottom and tap the System Settings menu. Scroll down and select the Factory Reset option.
5, Tap the Reset Settings to Factory Default check-box. Touch OK on the pop-up window. The reset process begins and the printer restarts after the reset completes.
6, The other method is to perform a hard reset on the machine. With the printer turned on, detach the power cable from it. Unplug the cable from the power outlet and wait for a few seconds. Reestablish the power connection.
7, The printer undergoes a warm-up stage. Wait until the process is finished and continue with the next step. Open the Control Panel settings on your printer.
8 , Navigate to the bottom and select the Product Updates tab. Single-click the Check for Product Update option and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

Pcl6 error - false

Some ideas.
First , go to the back of the machine, there is a panel about 6 inches square with a couple of tabs on it to remove that panel. Turn the machine off, remove the panel. Remove BOTH memory sticks. With the memory sticks removed, turn the machine back on and let it come to ready. Then reinsert the memory sticks and power the machine back on.

Second, Go to Xerox.com. Click downloads and drivers. Then enter M20i in the search box. Go to downloads and drivers and scroll down to the FIRMWARE download, It should probably be version 2.9. May be higher like 3.1. Anyhow, Download the newest version of machine firmware and install it on your machine.
Other things to try if one of the first 2 dont help.

Change the ethernet speed (auto, 10M half, 10M full, 100M half, 100M full)

How do I reset a Xerox Phaser 4500 Centreware password to factory default.. or what is the factory default password? I have on which has been changed and nobody seems to know the PW anylonger

this should restore it to default.

By default there is no username or password required to access CentreWare Internet Services. If a username and password have been configured for CentreWare Internet Services and you do not remember the username and / or password, reset the printer to factory defaults (NVRAM reset).
To reset the NVRAM, go to the front panel's Main Menu:
  1. Select Troubleshooting, then press the OK button.
  2. Select Service Tools, then press the OK button.
  3. Select Reset NVRAM, press the OK button.
  4. Select Reset NVRAM and Reset Printer NOW, then press the OK button to reset all the settings to their factory default values.

How to change the default scan resolution on M20i?

You need to go to the printers webpage from your Web Browser http://192.168.1.100 or something like that. Then, go into Properties tab, and then the Services Dropdown. Under that, go into Email Settings and then Email Setup. Change your DPI to as high as 600dpi, then scroll to the bottom and hit save. You'll be prompted for a password which is either Admin / 1111 or 11111 / x-admin
