Hello - I have a desktop hard-wired to FIOS via router, 2 laptops connected wirelessly. All are on Win7. All of a sudden the desktop can't connect to the network. Getting message networkX does not have a valid IP address and error 651. Also, should the cable be pugged in the WAN or LAN connection on the router? Any idea how to fix this? I'm at my wits end. Thank you.

My router is suddenly not working. The internet, modem, router and the wired lights are on, but the wireless and security lights aren't on and I can't connect from my laptop wirelessly.

check the wireless settings of the router.
Open the set up page of the router and make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled.
If enabled then try to change the wireless channel of the router.
if that doesn't work then try to upgrade the firmware of the router.

Can't connect DSi with same security as comps

hello, yes i had the same problem, but i had it with many other computers, the way i solved it was going into the router settings and click the "restore default settings" then turned the router off for 15 seconds (for a fresh reboot) then when i had to set everything up again i got all my computers on the router and im able to add more without running into that same problem once again, or for a simpler solution try disconnecting the wireless on the computers and replugging them in.... that works sometimes as well

Laptop Cannot Find Home Wireless Network

Try logging into the router with your desktop hard-wired and find the 25-digit passcode and use that to log on to the wireless network with the laptop. If not, then check if connection is good by hard-wiring the router to the laptop. Let me know what happens or if you have solved the problem.

If both computers are connected to the router. Try turning off the firewall on both computers first. normally its firewalls blocking file and printer sharing that block the connection.

Pc connection problems

Sounds like you are setup to use Internet Connection Sharing. don't do this. Have each computer connect to the internet via the router. If the router is wireless connect all computers wirelessly to the router that are wireless capable and any computers that are not wireless capable, connect them to the router via a cat5 cable to the cat5 ports on the router. This will solve your problem. BPCS
