Amana ABB2527DEW / ABB2527DEB / ABB2527DEQ Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Logo
Posted on Apr 04, 2011

I have a three year old Amana ABB2527DEB. The Freezer seemed to be overworking and the fridge was 68 degrees. Took everything out of unit and unplugged it for more than 24 hours. Cleaned it inside, outside, behind and uinderneath. Plugged it back in, left it empty and 35 hours later forst is again starting to build up at the top of the freezer door. Is this a defroster problem or a fan problem or am I just nuts.

This could be a double problem.
Yes the auto defrost cycle seems to have failed allowing an ice build up.
Secondly the door seal is leaking allowing warm moist air to sneak in. You probably need a door gasket too.

Top Bottom Amana worked fine until I cleaned the cooling coils. Now about every two weeks the fridge seems to go into an extended defrost cycle for about 14 hours during which it blows warm air into the...

Could be a number of things, low Freon, defective defrost timer. Suggest have a tech check it.
If it is 10 or more years old suggest replace it with a new one rather than invest funds in it.

After a bottle of gin broke spilling it's contents in the upper portion of our bottom freezer Amana Model BRD18V2S, The refrigerator no longer gets cold, we have aired out the liquor fumes and although the...

My wife posted the information below and I would like to add more to the story: We have two identical Amana Bottom Freezer Refrigerators, Model:BRD18V2S installed in our Kitchen. Both fridges are in an alcove and stand next to each other. One fridge is used as the beverage fridge and othe other is used as a food fridge. At about 10pm she noticed that an entire bottle (600ml) of Gin had cracked and emptied into the refrigerator section of the fridge used for beverages. We do not know how long the spilled gin was in the fridge. She mopped it up and we went to bed. At 7am the next morning, the beverage fridge and its freezer were showing 71 Degrees F. and everythind including the ice had melted. (We have aftermarket external temperature gages that show the fridge/freesor temperatures) The food fridge uninvolved with the gin spill was reading 68 Degrees F

My Amana fridge #ARB2215CB seems to be cooling the

Your refrigerator probably has an issue with its "damper control assembly", which regulates cold air coming from the freezer compartment. Contact an appliance service company.

Amana energy saver not keeping fridge section cool enough. HELP!

if there is frost build up on rear wall of freezer section the unit is not going through defrost cycle which builds up frost on evaporator and restricts cold air flow to the fresh food section. one of three things are bad. defrost heater, defrost thermostat or defrost timer. if no frost on rear wall you might be low of freon.
