Clx-3160FN Samsung. Replaced my fuser unit. Old one had jammed paper crammed inside of it which could not be removed. After new one, I got a nice copy quickly, but then got a "paper jam 2" message. There is no evidence of a paper jam. Anytime I want to print or copy ONE PAGE before encountering that error again, I can do so by turning the unit off and then back on. There has to be a sensor somewhere that is out of kilter or someplace not obvious where there is some debris.

SOURCE: Samsung CLX-3160FN prints and copies fine but can't scan

This may be obvious, but there's a "scanner lock" on this machine. It ships locked, and you need to unlock it when you receive it. Look up under where the paper comes out when you print, and on the left there's a little green switch. Make sure it's pulled towards you (you can see it also through the glass on the scanner bed).

SOURCE: Error on printer

There is a safety lock on the scanner that may be in the locked position. Turn the unit off and locate the green lock lever/switch under the scanner where the paper comes out. It will be labeled with a icon (picture) of a lock (unlocked and locked). Move it to the unlocked and locked position multiple times, ending up in the unlocked position. It may be stuck so moving it back and forth may release it. Turn it back on and try it.

SOURCE: samsung clx-3160fn deve home sensor error

Dev. Home error can be fixed by stretching out a solenoid spring on the power cord side of the printer. The solenoid acts as a clutch to stop the spinning developer actuator at the right spot.

The problem is that the spring gets weak over time / the cogs round out over time and the solenoid finger is overcome by the spinning cogs, and resulting in selecting the wrong developer.

Open up the right side (power cord side) of the printer (take off top cover, then take off side cover). Then, find a solenoid (little metal square) that touches the white plastic vertical spur gear. Take the spring off the solenoid. Now, put the spring back on - only this time you will attach one anchor point to the middle of the spring as to pre-stretch the spring for more tension.

The red fuser roller is damaged due to a paper jam. does the entire unit need to be replaced, or can just the roller be replaced.

If the problem is limited to the heat roller only and the pressure roller is undamaged, it can be replaced. The part number is JC6601078A and it can be found at www.partstore.com. Hope this helps you.

I have a Samsung CLX-3160FN, and after every page

Hi,

it is most likely that the fuser actuater arm is not sitting back to the sensor properly. open the back door you will be able to see the fuser, on your right hand side you should be able to see a fliper that sit in between a sensor. try to adjust the fliper flag and see if it works.

if it still continue to give you the same error. try remove the fuser four screw 2 side on each. adjust the flag again and fix it back. it should work and double check for any lose small pices of paper jam in the printer.

I removed a paper jam from rear of clx-3160fn. Now the rear door will not close all the way. The two plastic tabs on the rails inside seem to be in the way. Everything I have tried to do and move around...

power it off and on again ...but first repeat the operation like you did when you removed the paper jam...it might not be slide back completely ...
when you power it on keep the button pressed to reset ....
also take a good look to the roller to have all in place ...it might be not in place cause you forced the paper out ..or not removed all the paper if it broke in the process ..
