Do you have an HDMI port in the back or front of your desktop? This is probably the best technology to use to connect a tv to a computer. If your tv is too far from the desktop, there are wireless lan cards that can be installed in the USB port of your tv, but your computer must be on a wireless modem.

If your tv is close enough you can connect an HDMI cable from any HDMI input on your set to the HDMI output of your computer and go to the input button of your tv remote and select the HDMI port where you plugger into the tv

My os is vista how can connect to my jvc flat tv as a second monitor?

How you connect to your tv is not so much a matter of OS as it is dependent on what type of video connections are available on your laptop whether RGB, S-Video, mini-display port to DVI, or HDMI.
Once the tv is connected then you will need to right click your desktop and choose whether you want the tv to be a clone display (desktop to show on both your laptop screen and the tv, or use the extended desktop setting to have half the screen be on the laptop and the other half to be on flat screen tv.

Connect pc to tv.

Your TV will need an HDMI or VGA (15 pin) connector on the back, plus you'll need a matching connector on your PC. Get the right cable (eg VGA Male:Male) and connect them up. Then just set you TV input to PC.

Try this: right click on the desktop (wall paper picture) and select "Properties" (up to XP) or "Graphics Options" (Vista). You should be able to select you TV as a second display. The TV option may only show if it is connected.
