Uninstall Norton that you think might have caused the issue . The only backup program I would and personally use is Acronis True Image Home Edition. Version 11 can be found on Ebay.com for around $30.00

it sounds like your dvd player just cant read the data on just those dvd'sdvd players are different sometimes,plus where you got those dvd's could be the problem.also if someone else burnt these dvd's it could be the software settings they were using,but if they were purchased from a dealer i would let them know about it.or you can try just those dvd's in another player.hope this helps.

you should purchase a remote for your set to remove system OSD from showing. If you want I can post you one that is exactly matchable to your TV set.

did you try leaving a tape in the vcr?mine did that and when i left a tape in it worked fine. good luck.now i cant get a tape out...lol
