Hi,

I have a touch feed trimmer also. I've found that when the string doesn't come out, there is usually a twist in the line inside on the bobbin. Open it up and see if the line needs to be straightened out. Sometimes I've had to rewind for a bit.
Before you do that, be sure you are bumping it hard enough. Mine needs to bumped on a pretty solid surface.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a vote. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Grasshog

When I had this problem I replaced that ratchet toggle part that the string drum sits over. Do you use replacement refills or do you refill them yourself. If you wind the string in the wrong direction it all affect the auto feed.

B & D auto feed string trimmer won't advance string

Is the string spool seated on the rachet correctly? If so and all is well, it is worth noting that these trimmers auto feed fuunction is problematic at best, requiring manually unwinding some line every few minutes as the unit gets older.

How do I get my Black and Decker 12"bump feed trimmer/edger out of the groom position and into the edge position? My boyfriend misplaced the instructions to our new edger and I can't figure it out.

The handle/shaft is in two parts. By grasping the upper part of the shaft with one hand, and the lower part with the other, you can move the two sections slightly apart, then twist to turn the trimming end 180-degrees.

How to feed line into a black and decker trimer/edger model st6000 electric?

The ST6000 uses centrifugal force. Once you mount the new spool of string and thread it out of the feeder and into the housing below, plug it in, give it power and hold the line feed button down, feeding the line. Within seconds, the line will feed out through the head and you'll be in business.

Corded black and decker trimer

Please check your line diameter. If you are using stronger line than specified in the manual, it could be the root cause.
