Run diagnostic test gltf2940es0

if the drain pump is bad or clogged and can't drain the water it won't spin until water is drained.pump number 137221600,it's around 110 dollars, but first get a shop vac, pull out the drain hose from the washer and connect the shop vac to the hose and vac out all the water, you first have to remove the bottom front panel to get at the pump, remove the hoses going to the pump and have the vac ready to clean up any water that still might be in there, then check the pump and see if anything is in there,i've found coins that get into the pump or other debries and clean it out of the pump, then check the rubber boot on the hose, make sure nothing is in there and check the other hose, you can set the shop vac on blow and blow through the drain hose to make sure that's clear, remove any junk you find in any of the hoses and pump, reconnect the pump and hoses, put some water in then set it to drain and spin or rinse and spin,if the water drains and then it spins you're all set if not the pump could be bad,one more thing if the drum doesn't move you could just have a bad door switch, this is the easiest part to fix and i always have a door switch for frigidaire washer, remove the spring the holds the boot seal on.remove the rubber boot on the door switch side, take out the screws that hold the door switch in,and replace it,run it,if the drum starts to move then drain and spin it was the door switch, any error codes come up? good luck, have any questions let me know and hopefully i can help you

Hi, the challenge is that it washes and wont drain through the hose until i remove the filter

Hi.

Check that the drain hose height and elbow setting is correct, or the problem will be giving by water re-fluxing into the appliance from the drain hose.
Access the filter and clean it.
Check for blockage at drain pump hose.
Replace the filter if you have not done it yet.
Check and clean the hose connected to pressure switch.

Here a general article that I wrote about no-spin problem: If you have no spin ...

Kenmore 80 series Model # 110.23832100\r\nthe washer fills up agitates, when finished washing it stops pauses a while then starts to spin, you can hear the water going out put it is like it can't pick up...

Hi

If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump, drain filter or a kinked drain hose. Clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. Also check the connection to the drain pump and make sure wiring is fine. Check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Does not want to drain the water after washing circle

Hi.

Start checking the drain hose at the back, and the hose attached to the drain pump, located at the bottom of the appliance. After that access the control panel and clean the hose attached to the pressure switch. Also check the lid is closing well. Those are the only easy fixes.

The first parts to check are door latch and drain system.

The timer performs an additional check on the door latch before advancing to spin. The door switch it is tested by jumping its contacts, or by reading impedance to check if the switch is opening and closing the circuit (you will need a multimeter).

About the drain system,
if the machine does not drain, then the cycle will not advance to spin.

The electronic control checks the input from pressure switch (which detects water level) before advancing to spin part of the cycle. If there is a drain problem, then the machine will not spin.

The first step will be accessing the drain pump.

Kenmore top loaders' washer pump is accessed from the bottom side of the appliance.
Get ready to collect the water that will come from inside the tub.

Check also the drain hose at the back. Ensure that the height of the hose elbow is respecting the specifications indicated in manual. A wrongly placed hose will result in water going in the washer drain pump and tub, causing drain problems and no spin.

If lid switch and drain lines are OK, replace the pressure switch, which is difficult to test (it is tested reading impedance with tub full and empty. Before replacing the switch, you can try cleaning it and blowing into the switch pipe. Check also motor before replacing the switch. The switch is connected to a long rubber hose and it is located in the control panel.

Below an article about the no spin problem. If the problem is coming with no drain, check drain filter, drain hose at the back. If they are OK, the pressure switch may need to be replaced or the pump may be defective.

Here the general troubleshooting for no spin: If you have no spin there may be different reasons behind the problem.

Enter full model number here (the one written on tag) to get all parts and diagrams for your washer.

Water not draining during spin cycle - softener not dispensing into rinse cycle

Just make out the following checks before calling a repairman.

1)A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem

2)If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.

3)Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.
If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman.
