I have a sony handy cam model ccd-trv37 on which I just recorded my son at his high school musical. i now want to transfer this tape recording to my Apple Imac so I can edit it and send it to friends. Is there a connector available that allows for this?

Yes, firewire or IEEE1394 also called iLink.
Most cameras have a 4 pin connection and Macs a 6, newer models use 9 pin.
iMovie should be on your Mac and this will capture the footage.

How do u delete stuff on tapes from a sony handycam vision

I don't know if there's a function to delete video from a used 8mm, but you can do it the old way

1. Option: the first way occurs accidentally many times because you take video on top of what's already recorded... meaning record on top of the old tape

2. Option: leave the lens on the cam, and press record... it will record a blacked-out screen on the tape with nothing on it.

hope this helps

Sony handy cam Hi 8 ccd trv308

Sony has a recall on some of these ccd imager problems. Contact Sony to see if your model applies, but it sounds like an imager problem on your pal format camcorder. Larry

Erasing the tape on a sony handycam vision please

Well the cheapest way is to go into record mode, cap the lens with the black lens cap and record a 'black' picture on the tape. This will erase all the pictures on the tape and leave you with a 'black' screen on the whole tape.

Sony handy cam

Unit may have been set to wrong exposure preset. Taking video at night of fireworks can be tricky as a lens openning for night shots may be overexposed when taking shots of sudden bright flashes of fireworks. You might try moving the camera vantage point at least 60 - 100 feet away. This will give the camera additional time to adjust it's optics

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 Code C:31:10

it is whats called moisture condensation. this happens when the camera goes from a cold to a hot environment very quickly, and vice versa. Simply leave the camera standing with the tape door open for about an hour, and then try again. If this does not fix it, then try cleaning the video heads, and make sure the camera is not in a humid environment, as this will also cause this to happen.
