You can;t check the board out of the machine. Inside the control panel area should be what GE calls a mini manual and wiring diagram. Should be test procedures in that paper work. It should tell you where to test for voltage if the board is completely dead. If you had power, the board can be put into a test mode to check all the different parts and cycles. Hopefully that sheet of paper is still inside the control panel.
Hit the power button until there is NO display . Unplug and wait a minimum of 30 seconds , plug back in and within 30 seconds hit SIGNAL button then DELAY START button then SIGNAL button again then DELAY START button again. door should lock and display t01 It is now in test mode . There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. To exit the diagnostic mode - hit signal button then delay start button then signal button then delay start button and you are out of service test mode and back to normal. Post any error codes.
It would either give you a an error code like F1 or the unit would have no power going to the control unit and you would have no led's lit up on the control itself. If you have any further questions message me back you can also put your unit into diagnostic test mode by clicking this link which tells how to acess the diagnostic menu http://www.ehow.com/how_5545508_access-error-codes-ge-washers.html I await your reply If you have any further questions Thanks Rick
you can down load a file to show you how to put your washer into a srevice test mode
at appliance aid .com in the washer repair aid section line 7 you will see "GE LITTEL SWAN FRONT LOAD WASHER" click on that and you will see two down loads one of them will give you
directions and a list of the codes.
Here how you "test" the system: http://www.fixya.com/support/t9576766-found_small_partWhile in test mode "t02", you can reset all the error codes by holding down Start until it displays E00.If you find errors in the t02 test, make sure you write them down before clearing.
FOR MOST JUST UNPLUGGING AND RE PLUGGING BACK UP SHOULD RESET UNIT. IF YOU HAVE MANUEL CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A TEST MODE YOU CAN PUT IT IN AFTER UNPLUGGING AND REPLUGGING .
I am also having this problem as well. Trying to seek (once again) a solution as having to plug/unplug the washer before each use is really annoying.
Can anyone tell me how to run the test mode for this washer? I don't see that detail anywhere in my manual. Thanks.
Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer
If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.
Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.
To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.
