My compact refrigerator is too cold even turned way down almost off. Freezes soda cans and makes them blow up.

the "o" position is as cold as you can get
try setting up around 4 and see what happens

there is a motor with a flapper that opens and closes to keep your temp correct in the refrigerator side most likely the motor is bad and stuck open so your air from the freezer has constant flow to the refr side. the flapper is in the back of the refr behind a cover where the air flows in.

May be simple as dirty condensor coil try looking under the bottom where the compressor is there is a coil with a fan blowing on it. Try cleaning the coil and make sure the fan is working

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If it is freezing, either you need to turn both temp down to 2nd to lowest setting. Cold air does sink, so that is why crisper gets colder. There is a flap and vent for air between the fridge and freezer. The flap can get stuck in one direction, or the acutator that moves it can become faulty. A leaky door seal will also make the opposite compartment colder.

Friend, the control is malfunctioning thats why it wont work when selected.try to clean the parts inside

Adjust its thermostat. or if its broken try getting it fixed. if not then you just have to buy a new one :D

hi thanks for the question is this a new fridge . if it is the fridge does shut down to enable the freezer to thaw. if it did not do that do that the freezer would ice up . not cooling the fridge part thanks for the question

You have a defective thermostat. Change it.

Get a new cold control for it
