check to see that the flow switch is working properly, it may not have enough flow on low speed to allow the heater to turn on. Make sure your filter/s is/are clean. If you have a pressure switch instead of a flow switch, it may need to be adjusted or replaced.

SOURCE: Error code reads

'Sn' is a general error message relating to the temperature sensors.

Assuming that you have a Balboa spa pack (M7 version), turn off the power and remove the spa pack cover, you'll find two temperature sensors mounted in the top of the heater tube one at each end. Follow the wiring from the sensor to the plug(s) on the PCB and check that the connections are good, they have a habit of devekoping a poor connection.

If you have a multimeter you could also check the resistance of the two sensors. They should both be the same. If they aren't the same you'll probably have to replace them.

One final thing just to check... Ensure that there are no blockages within the heater. Unless you have service/gate valves you will have to drain the hot tub, unscrew the unions and check inside the heater for debris within the heater assembly.

If you're from the UK I may be able to help regarding parts etc.

Kind Regards,
Ian.

The topside control manuals are paired with the main Spa Pack control system. If you email me the model information off of your spa pack, I can help you to find your manual.

Lasco jet tub no power when pushing off/on button. The motor is good. This tub doesn’t have air controls it has low voltage lines coming out of the button

Ok, if this is a heated tub then it is possible that it works off of 220-240 Volts AC. Either you have a disconnect close to or connected to the tub, or it may be wired directly to the main home panel. One side of the 220 volts circuit breaker may be tripped. (being that what makes up 220 volts is two lines of 120) Your circuit breaker may look like it is not in the tripped position, so shut off the circuit breakers then turn them back on again and see if that may have helped.

I need to know what kind of control pack your tub has. If you can open the side panel and tell me what brand the pack is I can tell you what the error code is for.

My pacific hot tub has LOC on the display and i cant adjust the jets or temp. Is the display locked and how do i unlock it?

Mike,

Yes LOC is a standard topside lock code.

Try these common unlock codes,

Press & Hold Jet Button for 6 seconds
or
Press & Hold Temp Up & Temp down for 6 seconds.

Possibly your jet button is faulty i.e. it is broken internally or when it is pressed the button sticks in the on position and locks out the panel.

If those common codes don't work let me know which brand/topside control your spa has and I will get a more specific answer.

We have a Great Lakes spa with a Balboa control panel, manufactured in 1992. When you plug the spa in, it will shut down and read Sn on the topside control panel. We have replaced the high limit/temp...

Contact Balboa's Customer support department directly at 800-645-3201, follow the prompts to customer tech support (or press 0 and ask for customer support). You will need to be at the spa, control panel open and ready to read off the chip number, and you will need to be proficient with a test meter (AC voltage). The SN error is related to a bad sensor(s), but can also indicate a failed board. An incorrect sensor set will also create this problem, so confirm you used the exact or compatible replacement. If the SN code issue is no longer a problem, but the spa is still not heating, look and see if the heater led is on. If it is, you likely have some burned relays on the board, which can be replaced cheaper than replacing the board. If you need more help, email me at [email protected]
