if it is a glass top , Know you don't it will com apart by removing two screws in the front near the top , one on each side , are you going to replace a burner ? also turn off power before lifting top up , it will pivet on the rear

Have you tried cleaning your flame sensor? The little metal rod at the bottom of the burner can be removed and the metal rod that sits in the flame should be cleaned with a wire brush or emory cloth (fine sandpaper).
I have a GE stove which I purchased in 2004, and it is doing the same. I heard beeping coming from the kitchen in the middle of the night . I went to the kitchen and the oven was on by itself. I have been unplugging it when not using it. Maybe this could be a recall.
Hello, the switch controls the element ,if the element is staying on replace the switch.Please note any electrical repairs should be performed by an authorized service technician. good luck
Its probably the switch for that element, the contacts are fused. If this is a smooth top ceramic stove then the control relay board relay for that element is stuck.
