Yes on some vehicles you have to leave the ignition on. If you turn off beforehand you must wait all over again. Will ask you for a code normally after this time has elapsed.
Good luck with it.

Sometimes, the charger will overheat and fail. Try unplugging the charger overnight, plug it back in the next morning, then place the battery in the charger after waiting a few moments. Normally, this will correct the charging discrepancy.

1994 BMW 525 radio displays "CODE WAIT" after I put in the code numbers

You need to wait 1 hour before attempting to put the code in. Either the ignition needs to stay on 1 hour or drive it for 1 hour. If they key is turned off before then, you will need to start again.

WAIT 1 HR means wrong codes have been entered previously

To restore, leave SWITCHED ON ..UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself

In this case it should be 1 hour

Make sure you have the correct code

2000 saturn radio is locked. how do i unlock

1.) To begin, if your radio is displays LOC, then proceed to step 2. If your radio says INOP, then turn your ignition to the RUN position, and turn the radio ON. You must leave it like this for a minimum of 1 hour (not 59 minutes) to clear the INOP message. I would wait 1 1/2 hours just in case doing it too early causes the timer to start over.

2.) Turn your ignition to RUN (if not already), and your radio to OFF. Press and hold preset buttons 2 and 3 for around 5-10 seconds to obtain a scrambled version of your radio's original factory set code.

3.) Call a GM dealer with this code. Tell them you are with a local shop i.e. I am Joe with Good Year Highway Tire; Then tell them: We have a 2000 Saturn SL we just changed a battery in and the radio is now locked. My mechanic pulled the pre-code. Could you give me the code? This usally works at no charge.

Once you have the code write it down. Keep atleast 2 copies. Hope this helps!

If it's in safe 2 it's locked. With a battery charger on put the key on handbrake on to take off daytime lights if you have them. Turn the radio on for an 1 hr to 1 hr 1/2 until the display reads 1000. Enter your radio code and your set.
