I have a Garmin 3210 MFD unit with a Garmin radar hooked in. Today while at dockside with the radar even on, I received and error code 8 on the MFD indicating a radar problem. What does error code 8 mean? What's wrong with the radar?

any way this 8 error is motor communication error
1- check the connection between the processor pcb and and the motor controller pcb
2- check the cable connections

If its possible for you to detach the parts of the unit and put them back to together that will be good to make sure everything are really connected fine..
. You can try a hard reset: Unplug unit from power mains and remove all cables from unit. Wait about 30 minutes and replug unit to power supply and redo the cabling. Switch on the unitand see if it still displays same message :

Have u checked with the antenna terminals... i suggest u to remove antenna contacts clean them using WD-40 for best and put them back.. Hoping to hear form u ..

check the battery, some error due to battery problems, and then rest it for a while and then test.

That was suppose to say "...without the radar even operating..."
Batteries are fine, everything else works and both engines start with no problems.
I will check the connectors ans ssif that works.
