I have a True upright fridge (mod: T-23-1-G-1, Cab#: 3564088) that is in a residence. I've had it for 4 years and have kept up with the compressor cleaning, etc., as suggested. However it began running really hard this week and is making noises. i inspected the fan area, and it looks like dust, etc is covering all components. can i get a tech out to do a professional maintenance and cleaning? any idea on one in the Wash-DC area? Thanks a ton. k-
SOURCE: We have a true T49F freezer and the evaporator
Freezers have a sensor that is referred to as a "Fan Delay/Defrost Terminator". It senses the temp during the defrost cycle. Usually, when the evap temp reaches about 50 degrees, there should not be any frost or ice on it. This device terminates the defrost cycle. It also keeps the fans off so warm air is not circulated. When the evap gets to about 20 degress or so, the sensor switches on the evap fans. If the fans are not coming on, either the sensor is bad or the evap is not reaching the proper temp to cause the sensor to turn on the fans.
Hope is helps to clear up some things and point you in a direction as to what might be going on.
SOURCE: true upright freezer. coil fan not running.
Let it run. Coil temperature has to be low enough for the fan delay switch to close.
SOURCE: true 49f goes into defrost
in many cases, these units have relays or contactors where the contact points actually weld together. this causes the unit to stay running even though power to the coil has been stopped. I'd start looking there first. don't over look the possibility that someone could have mistakenly miswired the unit.
SOURCE: My freezer is having uneven temps throughout. Some
I would check all seals and make sure there are no air leaks. From what you describe there may be several areas that allow warm air to enter and cold air to escape. If the humidity goes up in your location and the door is open a lot it can cause havoc with consistency.
SOURCE: compressor vibrates and unit only
Okay first True uses capillary tube not an expansion valve.
You say the compressor vibrates not cooling ?
If the valves of the compressor are bad, he may mean
internal valves but usually pressures would not be good.
Give a little more detail please.
