Hi

Hit the print button on the left hand side. This will than tell you on the screen what the actual problem is...i.e. (out of paper...lost connection etc. Print Mode Error can indicate even the "simplest" of conditions. For example, the cassette runs out of paper. Have the user press the PRINTER key and OK, the display will show the reason for the "PRINT MODE ERROR" condition.

Also "Print Mode Error" occurs when the machine receives data to print a specified paper size the machine does not contain. Example, if the machine is set to print on 11 x 17 and that drawer is empty, you'll get that message. However, the most common cause of this message is when whatever program you are printing from sends an oddball size to the printer such as A4, Folio, 16K, etc. The next time you get that message, press the Printer button and see what paper size it's asking for. Then make sure the program you are printing from has Letter or Legal or Ledger or whatever size you want to print on is set.

Please get back to us if you have further query else. please accept the suggestion.

I keep getting a "Error

Hi,

You can download the manual for the MP240 printer here:
http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft33024/manual/MP240%20series%20On-screen%20Manual%20(EN).pdf

According to the manual, and some forums I have read, the 5100 error is caused by a problem with the print head / cartridge assembly not being able to move correctly.

Can you check if the print head / fine cartridges are seated correctly and nothing is obstructing them or causing a jam.

Can the print head / cartridge assembly move smoothly side to side along its track.

Can you check the inside of the printer for any foreign objects that might have fallen in and are causing a jam?

Some of the solutions I have found suggest using a drop of oil on the track that the print head moves along (a light machine oil such as 3-in-1). Be very careful and only use 1 small drop as a little goes a long way.

Please let me know if this helps and if not I will keep looking for you.

Many thanks,

Chris

Printer won't get of of paper mode. Red light keeps blinking

There is a faulty sensor inside of the circuit so a new printer would be better to invest in

Screen shows ready but can't print

ese follow these procedures carefully and i hope it will solve your problem.

● Check that all trays are correctly
loaded, adjusted, and installed in
the device.
● Using the computer, check the print
queue or print spooler to see if the
device has been paused. If there
are problems with the current print
job, or if the device is paused, a
configuration page will not print.
Also check the IP address associated with it if it is not connected directly. Make sure it corresponds with the one on the printer.

Printer will not communicate with server. When I click 'print' , printer will print out a message that is several messages back. It keeps printing out this same message when I turn it on. It seems to be...

Check that the printer is properly installed on the server and the correct options set for the printer driver.
It may be necessary to use raw mode. This is so when Windows machines print through a linix server. The server and the sending computer must agree on the format in which print files are sent.
In your case you need to purge the print job list before any doing anything else.

My brother 3 in 1 printer keeps going into sleep mode how do I reset it?

sleep mode is a normal thing with brother printer, you don't have to worry bout it,it's just the way the printer is saying "hey i'm not doing anything here, might as well get some sleep! once you start to print or scan it'll come back to life.

Canon MPC 190 Imageglass printer

Hi, taken from here: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/27470

1. Press MENU COPY SCAN COPY COPY

2. This will take you to TEST MODE

3. Use the + key to take you through to PRINTER TEST (option 8)(if you go past, either keep keying the +, or you can use the - to take you back)

4. Ensure that it shows 8-3 on the screen. This is EEPROM CLEAR

5. Press OK

6. It will show 0 INK COUNT

7. Press OK

8. Press the STOP/RESET button

9. Press the ON/OFF button

10. The printer won't turn off, but will "reset" itself (or something).

I'm not sure what this does, but it gets rid of the "WASTE INK NEAR FULL" message and you should be able to print again with no problem.
