Air condition

too much freon in the system or the engine is running too hot. Freon is extremely sensitive to temperature so if the radiator is too hot it will create a high pressure situation and the system will shut off. the same holds for an overfilled system. if neither of those conditions exist, then a new sensor or sensor calibration will solve the problem (I don't know which system we're talking about; some sensors are settable)

Air conditioning blows hot and cold air

You will need to know if the compressor is working when it blows hot air to proceed. It could be an electrical problem, a blend door problem, or the a/c clutch on the compressor.

I have a 1999 323i BMW. The AC doesnt blow cold (on cool days it blows cool temperature but not common A/C Cold Air, Hot Days it blows Warm/Hot Air). The heater blows warm air but definitely not common...

First things first.....You must have the air conditioning system hooked up to an a/c system machine and then checked for leaks and also read low and high side pressures. If there are leaks then low Freon (R134a) content and low refrigerant oil can cause the a/c system to not engage the a/c compressor which basically means you will not have proper defrost functionality nor regular air conditioning. Most shops, when working with your air conditioning, will install air conditioning dye to assist them in locating leaks and is the first step in diagnosing all a/c systems. Post the findings after thw

Air condition blows hot air but it has freon

You may have created an over charged condition and at this point the a/c compressor will cut off on high head pressures. This can be verified by installing gauges to the systems high and low side service taps and reading the pressures. An overcharged system will start the compressor briefly but soon cuts off once pressure goes to 350 - 400 lbs on the high side. Acceptable pressures for this system should be no greater than 250 high and low suction should drop to 40-50 psi.You might recover the charge and evacuate the system, then try bringing the charge back to proper level.A sight glass in the reciever drier really helps determining proper fill.Once all bubbles have dissipated from the sight glass during charging ,one should stop at that point to avoid overfilling.Too much freon is worse than a low charge especially in hot ambient conditions....

Air condition suddenly blowing uncooled air.radiator full. worked great until yesterday. could it be thermostat?

The thermostat and radiator are part of the engine cooling system, not part of the air condition system. Chances are, the A/C system is low on refrigerant. The system has a low pressure switch that prevents the air conditioner compressor from being damaged with the Freon is low.

You can purchase a can or R134a refrigerant at any parts store and try recharging the system yourself….the basic instructions can be found here:

2001 Honda Odyssey Ex Air Conditioning Not Cooling

Hi, my best advise is to have your air check for freon leaks ,low freon causes the compresor cluth to stop working ,this can cause the air to blow hot .......
