My camera wont turn on. There is a problem with the dv port. Would this keep it from charging? Because it wont charge and I think its because the dv port is messed up.

Your probably correct on this. I have a similar issue with my Sony and the camera dock. my charger works but I can't download the video from the camera because of the dock. Is there a DC in plug on the camera? mine has a small plug that is coverd in rubber on the back side and on the bottom. Look and see if you have this plug, you can just plug the wire going to the dock into the camera and charge it that way.

Anything is possible but I have not seen that one yet. You might just need to get the camera serviced to fix this, but if you remove the battery and aquire another replacement, youu can try swapping batteries. A bad battery will not take a charge either, If you have a volt meter, check the charging plug for 12 volt to make sure it is working. There isn't much else we can do here, until you get the port fixed. Ususlly by plugging into the DC in you bypass the other **** and just charge the battery. But with so many makes and models I can't be 100.% sure on the way your camera charges.

The battery or charger might be bad and need replacing. Do you have a different USB port available? It's possible the port you are trying to charge from is not powered.

My camera wont charge in the tray or the charge light won't come on. Camera keeps saying low battery.

My guess is that with the age of the battery it isn't able to hold a charge anymore which means you'll need to purchase a new battery. Your best bet for that will be to go through Sony or the website Dr. Battery.

What type of usb do I need to charge my camera?

Hi,

There is no special USB port required to charge camera. If you have a USB port and it's working, that's all it need.

Note - It's advisable to have 2.0 version as compared to 1.0 version.

However, you can charge your camera from either of the USB slots.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Cant get camera kodak m753 to charge

It appears that your problem lies with the main board their are two small fuses on the main board that can cause this problem. changing the main board is most likey your best bet repair on this can be around 65.00 and up depending on where you get it fixed.
