1st Go through the settings and do a "Factory Reset" then make sure your connections good quality wires and not wrapped around or inter-woven with power connections etc. Also - make sure you don't have your speakers to close to the screen - this can cause discoloration and sometimes a shaking pic. Short of that - if it is new Return it for a working model.
That isn't how resolution works. The resolution is changed in the cable box or satellite tv receiver. The television automatically displays the resolution once it has been changed on the cable box or satellite tv receiver. If you are on input tv on the Sharp television then it will not display any other resolution besides 480i if you have a cable box or satellite tv receiver. If you are not connected to a cable box or satellite tv receiver and you are on input tv then the resolution will differ from channel to channel.
I suggest you check the cable input system. It is possible that the cable unit produces S Video or B-G and the TV is set up to receive standard quality RGB. Hope this helps
I would go with one of those tv's in your price range. Given the sources you are watching both of them should meet up to your needs and carry you through until you may need a "higher quality" tv. Either one would be a good choice for your needs. Thanks, Lee
I am assuming your set is new. Ask for it to be serviced under warranty. This sounds like your set is defective for some reason.
LCD TV sets are known for their exceptional sharpness and performance when having a good quality signal source, and especially with an HD programs.
In order to get true high definition quality, you would want a high definition source. There really is not much else you can add to make your picture clearer, provided you have it hooked up with the best type of cables possible.
I am a Sharp servicing technician and I have seen this "problem" with this particular model many times. I have tried replacing the Main Board and the Terminal Board and it does not help. The reason i put "problem" in quotes is because I came to the conclusion that this is model is just not that loud. However, a few months after the initial production run, BAM, these TV's are as loud as any other TV on the market so sharp must have caught onto this.
