Have a day old Bravos medx600xw dryer. I'm hearing a vibration when its runs and am wondering if it's not level if that would cause it. My daughter was the one here when it was delivered and she says they never leveled it. I am wondering if I should be concerned enough to send it back and ask for a different one.

Hello. The dryer has a pair of sensor bars mounted on the front of the filter holder. They look like long metal rails(about 6 inches or so) and are about 1/2 inch apart. When the wet clothes touch these rails, they electrically short across them, which then tells the control board to keep drying--the clothes are wet. As the water is removed from the clothes, this "keep going" signal gets less and less, causing the dryer to count down and eventually stop. There might be a problem with the wires going to these sensor bars or with the control board. If the dryer keeps going and won't shut off during "sensor dry" the wires could be shorted or the control board might have a loose connector or is defective. Since the unit is so new, the chances of lint build-up being the culprit is remote.

If your dryer is less than a year old, it is still under warranty and I would recommend calling wherever you purchased the dryer and find out how they handle warranty claims.

People, the first words the poster said were that the dryer was "brand new". All of your suggestions assume the dryer had extensive use. This sounds like a factory defect issue!!!! My brand new Maytag Cabrio gas dryer is also making an obnoxious buzzing sound that seems to cycle on and off as the gas ignites. The buzzing sounds electronic not mechanical. What would buzz when the burner is active?

Check to make sure it's level. Number one cause of vibration is not being level. Number two cause is soft floor and what I call "Sympathetic vibration" where the floor shakes a bit and it seems like it's in time with the vibration on the washer. It then magnifies the vibration and makes it worse.

If it's level and on a solid floor, you need to get it serviced under warrenty.

No, not normal. Bravos don't even vibrate much. First, make sure the machine is sitting level. If it is level front to back and side to side and still shaking, try this simple test, put your hands on opposing corners (right front, left back) at the same time and try to rock it back and forth and then try it on the other 2 corners (left front, right back). If the machine wobbles at all it would cause this issue. This can be cause by a lose leg or leg mounting issue. If all this checks out you should call for warranty service as it could be something internal and you don't want to let it go for a long time.

"AF" means "Air Flow". Your vents are cloged with lint. I have had to vaccum out my vents several times, both inside and out. It's been a bit of a pain.
