The encoder strip switched off the ph and has to be set into place again.

An advice:
when you have set the encoder strip in pos. again stick some scotch tape on the top of the ph cover where the strip runs thru to prevend the slipping off again on next paper jam ;-)
SOURCE: message unable to print 50
Machine Error 50 either means that there is a loose object inside the machine (usually piece of paper), or that there is a mechanical error which would need you to have the machine sent to service.

Paper Jam on top paper error. When Printer starts it starts to initialize and fails with INIT 50 error. Paper jam was removed through the top area in the back when the cover is open
