Epson printer CX9300 error B73 cannot recognise ink cartridge

  • Anonymous Feb 22, 2012

Solution (1) worked for me on a PX 650. Turned off Status monitor, went through insert cartridges routine, printer then went through head cleaning on its own. Behold it works. Haven't dared turn the status monitor back on yet, going to let it print a few pages first.

A clone cartridge is a type of third-party ink cartridge that uses an identical chip to the original ink cartridge. People buy cloned cartridges to save money, since original cartridges are more expensive. However, sometimes the Epson printer does not recognize the cloned ink cartridge. After you install the cartridge, you might receive a message that says "An ink cartridge cannot be recognized." In this case, you will have to disable the Epson printer monitor.

Epson workforce 520 won't recognise ink cartidges

When replacing ink on the Epson Workforce 520, Ensure the cartridges have the correct/same number of gold contacts. Ive seen them with 7 and 9 gold square contacts and they were otherwise identical, and the ones with 9 contacts threw an "cartridge not recognized" error on the printer's dispay.

Epson stylus sx200 refuses to acknowledge black ink bought direct from epson

I believe the DX series and the SX use the same system

# Determine which ink cartridges are not recognised.
# With the ink cartridge holder in the ink cartridge replacement position, lift up the ink cartridge holder lid and take the cartridge or cartridges out.
# Check that the cartridge is a genuine Epson ink cartridge - look for the EPSON branding and T0xxx codes on the cartridge labels.
# Check that the cartridges are correct for your Epson product.
# Wipe the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge that is not recognised.
# Check the chip contacts within the ink cartridge holder for any debris or dried ink and wipe with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
# Check that the plastic at the bottom of the cartridge has been pierced.
# Check that the cartridges are in the correct slots.
# Reinstall the cartridges into the ink cartridge holder in the correct order.
# Push the ink cartridge down firmly. It should click into place.
# Repeat this for any ink cartridges that were removed.
# Push the ink cartridge holder lid down. It should clip into place and be secure.
# Press the Stop button, this will return the ink cartridge holder to the right hand side of the unit.
# If the error light flashes after the print head returns to the home position, the ink cartridge may not be installed properly.
# If the red light is no longer displayed, but Status Monitor still reports a Non-Genuine Ink warning.
# If the red light is still on the printer, and Status Monitor indicates that an ink cartridge is not recognised, follow the steps below.
# If the problem remains, there may be a fault with the ink cartridge.

Epson DX7450 won't recognise compatible cartridges

This is a common problem and is caused by faulty or missing chips onthe compatible cartridges. You will need to get them replaced otherwise the printer will not operate. Contact the vendor where you bought them from and ask for repalcements or a refund.

Error message saying cannot recognise ink cartridges

hello

Double check to see if the cartridges that came with your machine are really the correct ones. And if they are then make sure they are snapped in securely as they must make a solid contact to read the cartridges. Also make sure the drivers and software are properly installed onto your computer. Also make sure that the tape that is usually on the cartridges to protect them in handling and shipping are removed before installation.

Problem using sublimation inks

Since you are using sublmation ink, the cartridges are probably aftermarket and may not meet Epson standards. Aftermarket chipped cartridges are notorious for failing to 'communicate' with Epson printers, even when the cartridge is brand new. Before taking the printer to a service center, you might try purchasing new cartridges of your ink from your reseller. If that fixes the problem then your fight is with the ink reseller, not Epson. If it doesn't fix the problem and your printer is still under warranty, take it to an authorized service center, and remember, using non-Epson ink does NOT void the waranty.
