Hi, I have a Janome Memory Craft 8000 sewing machine (not in your list) which I took in for an service the other day. I told them that the display screen was VERY DIM and I couldn't see any details on it at all. They advised me regarding the small dial to turn up or down which I have tried. IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. My question to you is can this electronic screen be fixed, if so where in NZ and approx cost involved. To be honest I am extremely disappointed as I have been told there is no cure - WHAT GOOD IS THIS MACHINE TO ME IF I CAN'T SEE THE DETAILS ON THE SCREEN. I had the same problem. I took my Janome MC 8000 machine to Pocono Sew and Vac. The tech. told me that the repair would be over 300.00. I told him not to make the repair. He called a day later telling me he found a website that sold a back light that fit my machine for 50.00. he installed it. The machine works fine now. The back light is a little smaller then the screen, so there is a thin dark line at the top and the bottom of the screen. All the function can be seen, and work fine.
