If it is running Win CE then it is VERY old. The GPS is probably failing to see the satelites. Probably time to replace it.

If you GPS is at the point of needing windows CE installed then it is in a bad way. This is not done in the normal way on the Mitac Mio. It is setup using and SD cardspecific keys assigned by mitac to perform only a minimum of functions for its GPS hardware.LikeRESET +POWER then selecting different options specific to the GPS

Then getting maps on it is also different from a straight install. I suggest you contact MIO and have them reinstall Win CE and the maps for you before you compromise it totally so that it cannot be undone

If you unit has been sitting in the sun you may have burned out the screen or th overheated the ROM tha contains the Windows CE operating system. The only real solution to this problem is to send the unit to Nextar for either a repair by swapping out the ROM or get into their exchange program and get another unit with an updated map.

Windows CE Core 5 is the operating system for most portable CPU controlled units. GPS units included.

Your operating software has become corrupted, the only way to fix this is to contact support for the GPS at Polariod and see if u can format the GPS and relaod the software

It is not a matter of just copying the GPs map program to the card. You have somehow deleted the Invion Formatting back to Windows CE.

Special programs are used to get the invion program written into WinCE and then to apply the Icons specific to your GPS like PHOTOS and VIDEO etc.

These programs are installed using the reset and on buttons to get them to boot much like haveing a CD boot up other than the HDD The process of reinstating these to get the maps on and working is about 45 minutes and then the maps can be loaded. At $120 an hour the $40 fee is cheap, so if you want your GPS to work i would take up the offer

You need an operating system like iGO, TomTom Navigator or Sygic. For around 50 euro you can get the latest Sygic 9 with any maps.
