Error code LE indicates that either the motor is not turning or has locked up for some reason. It can also be due to Hall sensor which monitors direction and speed of the motor. If the sensor is faulty then also this error appears. Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor. To make sure it's not a locked motor, try turning the drum with your hand. And, if there is any resistance while turning the drum or the drum doesn't move freely then the motor is locked and you'll need to get it replaced. If the motor seems to be fine then you would need to replace the Hall Sensor. To replace the hall sensor, take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. --------------- Unplug the unit from main outlet. Then drain the water from the machine.By disconnecting the drain pump ,There will be too much water so be care full.If you disconnect the drain pump from drain hose to drain the water it will flow on you,so keep towels ready to soak the water. Also clean the water filter. ----------------- In most of the case LE error is solved by just disconnecting the washing machine from main power outlet for 30 minutes. But if the problem is still the same then try cleaning the filter and draining the water from drain pump. This error occurs when motor stops functioning and water does not drain. --------------Also another cause of LE error is Regarding the LE ERROR CODE. This code is also caused by having a residue on the sensors in your unit. You have to use a HE liquid detergent. If you use fabric softener use half of the recommended amount and dilute if it is concentrated. Once a month (for a family of four) put 3 cups of white distilled vine-ager directly into the drum and select sanitary cycle or the hottest cycle you can. This prevents residue from forming in your unit and causing the LE ERROR CODE. ---------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech,.
i just experienced the "LE" error code and thankfully was able to solve it without a service visit:) thought i should post on this site, as i had read this page looking for help, on how to go about fixing. i called the LG customer service number and the lady on the phone told me it could be because of soapy water. sounds silly, isnt that what a washer deals with all day? anyhow, the following easy steps solved the error code and now we are back in actiion. step 1: unplug washer. step 2: turn off water. step 3: drain water out of the machine through the hose. step 4: turn water and power back on. step 5: select rinse and spin cycle, do not add clothing or soap to this. you will notice that no "LE" error message comes on and the machine goes through the cycle as it should.
et voila, you will have a working washer like i do now.
Thank you sharing your experience.thanks.Helpmech.
