I have replaced the ge double oven control 4 times. I tworks for a while and it gived me an error. sometimes F7 and sometimes asks me to set bake temp on lower oven but the controls are frozen. I have to reset with circuit breaker. The time that it keeps working after circuit reset gets shorter and shorter: from a few days to a few hours.
I went through the same "fixes". Cleaning the contact areas of the ribbon connector with an eraser. Worked for a while, but the metal trace wears away and you lose conductivity and the errors return. I bought a tube of Circuit Writer conductive pen. I traced the worn away lines with the pen and let the areas dry. Five minute job. I even hit it with a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. I reassembled the connector and it works now. I will update if problems re-surface. The solution is re-establishing the trace on the ribbon connector.
I just wanted to let you know that the fix-it noted in scihelp's post worked for me, too. If you have not tried it yourself, try it. It is a very easy fix-it to do and may save your oven.
This is a common problem, try

it worked for me.
