The audio for the stereo in my 01 Lexus LS 430 is not working properly. The audio won't play through my speakers but the audio for the computer still works. This happened a few months back, but that first time I shut the engine off and started it again and it worked fine. Today was the same deal, I drove to work and it was fine, but when I started it at lunch the audio was out again. When I got off work, I started it and the audio worked again. I ran an errand later and no audio again. I started the car to go home and again, no audio. Also, whenever the audio is out when I activate my alarm the beep doesn't happen either, so the two have to be related. Can you please help me out? Thank you, and god bless.

The problem has to be repaired first. Is seems to be an electrical short or a defective part. It should be properly diagnosed & repaired & the computer cleared. Limp home mode is gone with the solved problem. DONT CHANGE PARTS THROUGH COMPUTER CODES.
The radio anti-theft has locked itself out. You need to go to your local agent with ID and they will check your radio serial number and be able to give you the correct unlock code. (Make a note of this for future ocassions).
Before I post this for you, I just wanted to let you know that you can buy an aftermarket harness that plugs right into your existing harness. Then it allows you to hook up to the wires without cutting your factory wires. They might even have it at Wal-Mart for less than $15. Anyway here are the specs. My 2004 Lexus LS 430 has had the light come on several times, even after changing all four tires. There are no tire pressure sensors on my four tires. I was told the car computes tire rotations and since a low pressure tire takes more rotations than a fully inflated tire, the computer puts up a message on the dash. To reset/turn off the message, put the emergency brake on, start the car and reach below the dash to the right side of your steering column until you feel two buttons in a depressed area under the dash. One button turns on /off your smart key and the other will turn off your tire low pressure message. Depress and hold until the message on your dash goes out and you are good to go. I know this works, I just reset mine a few minutes ago.
The outer cone is where the problem is, right where the fiber/foam of the cone material attaches to the outside metal frame. if you look closely, you will find the speaker is torn along this line, at least at some point(s). I used ge silicone 2 clear, make a bead all the way around, took about ten minutes, could not be better. Great fix. Also check lexus owners club for more detail.
I own a 2002 lexus LS 430 with navigation system. The radio plays, but the volume and function on cd player does not work. The volume is real low and cant be turned up at all.
