Jenn-Air CCE3401 My cooktop stopped working after many years of problem free operation. When I turn the element on, the pilot light goes on, but the plate is not getting hot.. and this is happening with all four plates/elements. This all happend all of a sudden. Yesterday everything was okay, today, none of the plates are not getting even warm. Do you know what the problem might be?

SOURCE: melted plastic help!!!!!!!

While the cook top is cool, use a razor blade scraper to remove most of the melted plastic.  Turn on the cook top to warm the remaining plastic slightly, turn off the cooktop,  and then wipe off the excess.

Try your local dealer. The tops can be expensive. I have seen them start at around $300.00. Check your warranty and maybe you can get it done under that. They would put like 5 years on those tops. May have to tell them that it broke when you where cooking, blame the product, not you.

SOURCE: I have a Jenn-Air CCE3401 Electric Cooktop I want

Firstly turn the power off. Lift the cooktop out from the benchtop and lean it against the wall. There will be a small panel where the wiring terminates into the cooktop. Remove the panel and disconnect the wiring to the cooktop. Ensure that you insulate all wires properly. You can then turn the power back on if you need to.

Right front burner fails to heat (at all) Jenn air

I suspect a faulty element or electrical connection to the element.

One of the burners on my Jenn-Air electric cooktop does not turn on and get hot. 3 burners do work. Any suggestions?

the contact may be loose but most likely the burner needs to be replaced. the one you use the most usually goes first, and not getting hot enough is the common indicater of a shot burner

Circuit Braker Jumps Off

You probably have a burnt out element. They almost always short out when they burn out. If it is a coil unit it may be visible. A smooth top unit can't be diagnosed without removing the top glass. Most of the time you can do this yourself. Sometimes when a burner goes it will ruin the switch also.

Electric element does not turn off except after several tries.

The contacts in the control switch have fused. Replace the switch. You can probably do this yourself. Part should run about $25.
