Letters appear slow when typed on my 1501.....sometimes up to a second or two delay.

Go to Control panel, keyboard and see if the indicator on the type rate is on low or at the far left end of the scale , If it is move the indictor to the right and it should be alot faster

LX 710 Keyboard

First for both the keyboard and mouse you can set the speeds. Secondly, download Ccleaner and run it. Lastly and most important if you have not done this.....take the keyboard and bang it upside down on your desk....you may be surprised as to what comes out.
Late nights cramming and pretzels...these are the obvious fixes. If that still does not do it you can take the keyboard apart and with a soft cloth moistened in alcohol clean the film and keys.
