What color smoke white means coolant, blue means oil, black means burning too much gas. Who did the head gasket? Check for oil in the coolant. This could mean a bad head gasket install or a cracked block. If you have blue smoke you have worn piston rings
What color smoke? White, blue? Blue smoke can generally be pinpointed to bad rings as fuel is get past the piston in the combustion chamber. White smoke could be a myriad of things but usually means there's un burnt fuel in the combustion chamber.
i am guessing this is a gas engine on a farm tractor. White/blue smoke is usually a sign of burning oil. Depending on the color, it can also mean you are burning oil and water both. You could have bad rings, bad gaskets, or cracks in the head or block.
If there was a problem with too much gas from the carb, (flooding), then the smoke should be black.
what color is the smoke ? if it is blue white , you're burning oil , due to bad rings, worn valve guides or bad valve guide seals. if it is black, you have a carburetion problem, as it is running too rich. however , since it does it when it warms up I would suspect rings or valves.
It sounds like you have a warped shadow mask in your picture tube if your set uses a picture tube.
A shadow mask is like a screen wire that lets the three color guns shoot electrons to their respective phosphor dot on the screen to produce the three primary colors which are mixed properly to produce the scene that is being shown.
In other words you have a bad picture tube.
