No. The EX-Z60 does not charge the battery through the USB port. You need to use the supplied charger. Alternatively, if you have the EX-Z60DX cradle, you can plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. However, using the cradle will not let you charge the camera through the USB port either.

The Zoom 220 takes two 12AH(Amp-hour) batteries. They can be purchased locally and at the following site:

Its easy to remove the 9 screws holding the battery box together and install the batteries. To save on labor I recommend you do it yourself. Hope this helps.

It is possible the the battery could be damaged after being stored for that length of time. If it was wasn't completely charged before storage, or if it was exposed to extreme temperatures (even for a short amount of time) you may need to find a replacement battery. http://www.batteryinternational.com/electric-scooter-batteries.html should have the battery you need.

Hi I am Vortah The red light is usually an indicator that the battery is charged however in this instance as you are saying it isn't the battery has possibly gone short and you will need to replace the batteries . They have a type of internal memory and only charge a certain amount of times before they no longer accept charge and merely overheat during charging .. But I have to say it may be possible the charger is faulty as if the internal rectifier that charges the battery has gone short that may also bring the red light on in some chargers .. so try the battery or as I would do take it along to your nearest dealers and get them to check it . it may save you money in the long run you could be buying a battery you still cant use when you actually need a charger .. It really sounds like an exposure setting. Check the manual exposure, it will use that setting when not in auto mode.

When you were charging the battery did it blink? If it did then it's not fully charged. Blinking means no good. We want solid when charging. Make sure the battery is installed correctly. If that's in ok then I would say it's a repair issue.

I think, Charger is out of order and battery used all its charge, now charger is not functioning, so battery is not being charged. I mean no power from either side to camera.
Try to use another charger to charge battery.

it wud flash red until it gets fully loaded..its normal...try charging for 90 mintutes..as that is when it is completely charged
