Rule of thumb for lawn and garden equipment ...
If it is 2 cycle - gas and oil are mixed - 50 to 1 mix. Some two cycle engines require more oil ... up to 32 to one.
It if is 4 cycle - has a fuel tank and a crank case - 30 weight oil SJ or better service rating.

And a final word ... it is always good to refer to the manufacturer recommendations when selecting lubricants. ADDING OiL TO CRANKCASE: iNiTiAL USE
NOTE: This unit is shipped without oil. In order to avoid damage to the
unit, put oil in the crankcase before attempting to start the unit.
The unit is supplied with one 3.04 fluid oz. (90 ml) bottle of SAE 30 SF, SG,
SH oil (Fig. 6).
