Hello - The fact is that your TV, as a HDTV ready device, is really a display monitor that does not contain any TV tuner. There is no place to attach your coax TV connector.
To view TV on the unit you would have to either subscribe to cable or satellite TV service or buy yourself an external TV tuner such as listed HERE (I'm not recommending this tuner just showing the kind of device you would need.)

Hello again - In re-reading your question I just realized that you are speaking about hooking up a CABLE TV connection so my advice above is mute. Apologies. What you need if you don't already have it is a cable set top box from the cable company. If you don't have one they will provide you one free (with perhaps a small monthly fee of $5 (USD) or so). Along with that box they will provide the cables you require and installation instructions or you can have them come and install it.
