How to Remove Someone from Messenger

1. In your Messenger app, tap the people icon at the bottom.
2. Tap Contact at the top.
3. You will see the All People list.
4. Find and tap the info icon next to the person's name you want to remove.
5. Now tap Remove Contact to confirm.

I am sorry but there is no way to know if someone has blocked or deleted you from there buddy list unless they tell you

You don't delete yourself from their list, you stop them from contacting you.

In your YM window, highlight the person you want to get rid of, and choose Contacts -> Delete from the menu options. Make sure you are deleting the right person, and click Yes.

click on Messenger on the top left of yahoo main window then select Preferences ----> from the list on the left click Ignore List --> add
type the e-mail you want to block
if it is someone already added on your list you will need to delete it before you can block or ignore

You will need to go to your Yahoo! Email Account and delete the contact's name there first.

1. Click Contacts from in the toolboxt to open.
2. Go to the contact you wish to remove and click the box next to it.
3. Go to the top of the list and click the Delete button.

Go to Messenger. When your list of Contacts opens, right click next to the name you wish to remove and select Delete from the drop down menu. The contact will be removed here also.
Error Code 40402 pops up when trying to remove a name while in your Yahoo Instant Messenger list first.

Quit the program, then delete the contents of the “Cache”-folder located here:
c:/program files/Yahoo/Messenger/Cache


That usually solves a lot of problems, that occur all of a sudden. Try that and see if it works

most probably a registry error - if you do not have a registry cleaner try downloading the free version of ccleaner from filehippo
once its downloaded select 'registry' from toolbar on left hand side and run 'scan for issues' followed by 'fix selected errors' if errors are detected
use microsoft 'one care' for further check

Try deleting the contact in your YahooMail contact list and not your YahooMessenger list. Both YMessenger and YMail use the same addressbook. So whatever you do in one is reflected in the other.

I have used Zak's nobuddy before - it has been updated to work with yahoo's newest protocols.

Test: (A) I have 2 yahoo ID's - I added each to the other:
(B) I use Yahoo Messenger version 9.0.0.2162
(C) I was invisible mode at all times on each ID

1 I then got this zak nobuddy to remove one from the other:
2 It worked (although it left no message - I was simply gone).
3 I then performed the normal add request - this too worked fine and I was added again as soon as ID2 accepted.

You say it's blocked from your contact list:
I would check from messengers menu bar
messenger/ preferences/ ignore list and see if your friends ID is in there.

Hello from Portugal,i used to have the same problem,when i logged to msn no contacts although in hotmail they where all there,so i uninstalled windows live essencials(all programs) then downloaded windows live messenger 2009(again) but this time i only installed the messenger app!problem solved now when i log in all my contacts are there and the messenger works at is full power(lol) hope i helped someone and sorry for my english!
