Samsung HP-P4271 42 in. HDTV Plasma power problem. When plugged in, won't turn on, just red standby light. Checked fuses (has continuity), capacitors (visual looks good), noticed blackened bulb near fuse in power board... could this be the problem?

Yes,this is the problems, might have bad plasma screen panel itself.Have a tv tech.to check it out.If the plasma screen panel it dead,tv not worth repairing.Plasma screen itself will cost the same as a new tv,if u able to buy it.

I could be the bulb, but I would put money on the power supply being faulty. It is a common issue with the Samsung plasma's.

60pa6500 LG Plasma NO sound or picture. Standby RED LED lit, when I hit power I hear a click and RED goes off. Checked caps on all boards visually and none are swollen.

Check capacitor with a digital volt meter. In my Samsung, the TV has a chip that check to see if all circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input and video boards. The problem is when it check the high voltage circuit and it does not have 390 volts, the chip turn-off the power instead. (It is a safety thing.) You can buy a new power board or fix it yourself. The power board is where the 120 volts AC is plugged in, and near the 120 volts is small transformer, then you will see a capacitor rated 100 uf at 450 volts. Check for 390 volts here. If the voltage is less, then replace this capacitor with a 350 uf at 400 or at 450 volts.Samsung used a "small" capacitor when it should have ordered at large capacitor. Good luck.

My LG TV red light won't turn on. although the plug fuse and the remote OK

Try manually pressing the power/standby button on the tv (side or bottom) the red light should appear, most modern tv's will turn on simply by pressing the channel up or down on the tv itself.. But unfortunately in most cases, this seems to be an internal surge and needs a professional to inspect..

Just moved and rehooking up the plasma. Plasma does not turn on/has no power. Cable box plugged in, power cord rechecked to ensure plugged in correctly and checked power cord it has 110/120 at the plug...

Check that the outlets "GFCI" fuse or reset button hasn't been triggered. If this isn't a GFCI outlet, then verify the breaker is on. If still no luck, verify the device input power i.e. 110/240V

Pioneer media receiver won t turn on

If the light on the media reciever doesn't come on then the power supply in that needs to be replaced by a service tech. If you disconnect the 2 cables from the media reciever and the panel and then try to turn on the panel it should light with red and green squares for a few seconds but will turn off as it needs the media reciever to be connected.

Samsung tv stoped working, it now wont power on, the red standby light dosent come on.

Yup I would tend to agree it's probably the PSU... It shouldn't be too expensive to fix, probably an hour or so labour and either parts OR a complete new PSU, in saying that ensure ya take it to a reputable service place.. and get a "quote" B4 allowing to continue.
