Protect occurs when 1 or more of your speaker wires is touching somewhere. Power off the receiver, connect speaker wires to receiver and speakers again, power back on, should fix the issue.

Protet mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.

When in protection mode the unit is prevented from starting by protection circuit, so to prevent further damage.

Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection.

Try unplugging power cable for one hour or so. then connect cable back and see if you get rid of protect state. Sometimes accumulation of electrostatic charges inside circuit capacitors can kick in protect mode. In that case unplugging the unit from main for some times can get rid of electrostatic charges, and reset circuits by draining power completely.
If that was the problem, you will not get Protect when plugging back power cable.

If you do all the above and still get Protect, then there is a real fault.

In that case the unit may be disassembled and tested to find the fault.

If that is the case I suggest contacting the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, or asking a quote on repair to a local technician.

I have Write Protect! come up on the camera it won't let me take a picture

Take out the memory card. Check if the write protect switch is in the protect position. Move it to the other side of the slot. Carefully reinsert the card without moving the switch. Try a different card if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

PNY Attache 64GB usb flash drive Disk is write protected

Normally I'd make something this simple the very first step. Some USB flash drives come with mechanical switch on them that put them into Write Protected mode.

There can be very small slider switch.

And if this is the case, then you must move the switch to unlock position.

Kenwood a76 protect mode

hi, if protect comes up while the amp is standing alone without any speaker leads or input leads connected, then you definitely have an internal circuit fault, with either the power regulator circuits, or the amplfier circuits.

Have b/r/w coming in....b/w go to old duplex outlet...black from outlet to switch..red direct to light switch...want to replace duplex with gfci and add a two switch device, one switch controlling existing...

Hi Augie, I'm an electrician and can help you with this problem.

First, a couple of notes. You must provide GFCI protection for a fixture (light, fan, etc.) in a shower under any of the following conditions: 1) If the manufacturer specifies this protection in this location (nearly every fan in a shower requires this protection), 2) If the local / state electrical code requires it (the National Electric Code does not have such a requirement) and 3) If the local wiring inspector requires it. You can argue with the inspector if there is no local / state requirement - but is usually not worth the effort.

Next, cautionary notes: Nuisance tripping of GFCI devices have nearly been eliminated in newer fixtures and small motor loads. Some older fluorescent fixtures and larger motor loads may cause some trouble - but that's about it especially if an inspector is requiring the protection (this happens pretty often). If a newer light fixture is tripping a GFCI device - something is wrong. This should be fully checked out before powering it again. There is a very real potential for shock or burns under the right conditions. Use extreme caution here. Maybe a new fixture is in order??

Finally, to your question. Most GFCI outlets have LINE and LOAD terminals. This means that anything connected to the LOAD terminals will have the benefit of GFCI protection. The line terminals however, are not protected.

If you connect the circuit that you do NOT want to have GFCI protection to the wires that will be connected to the LINE terminals, no GFCI protection will be afforded to them.

The circuit that you DO wish to have GFCI protection should be connected to the LOAD terminals. Since you can not secure two wires to a terminal, you will need to connect a short length (8") of insulated wire to each of the line terminal screws (silver and gold screws) and connect the other end to the wires that supply power to this GFCI outlet *and* the wires that will provide non-GFCI protected power to the light fixture through the switch; with wirenuts.

Basically, the jumper from the outlet to the switch can not come from the LOAD terminal - instead it must come before the protection - from the wire that brings "hot" power to the LINE terminal side. The same holds true for the white neutral wire that connects to the fixture; it can not come from the LOAD terminal - it must come from the wire that brings "neutral" power to the LINE terminal of the GFCI outlet.

I hope this helps and good luck! If you have more questions - ask away.

When camera is turned on "PROTECTED CARD" comes

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Protect

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . Send to Rockford Fosgate for repair .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. protect-zb4bomd1rt4qms0dqd12kkt2-3-0.jpg

Protected card- when I turn my camera on- it comes up and says Protected Card and will not let me take or delete pictures.

Try removing the memory card and move the small locking switch on the side of the card to the opposite position from where it is. That should remove the protection on the SD card and allow it to record etc.

Nikon Coolpix 5200 Getting Message ""Memory Card is Write Protected"

Inspect your SD card carefully. Some SD cards come with a write-protect lock switch on the side of the card. When looking at an SD card from the top there is one required notch on the right side (the side with the diagonal notched corner) and on the left side there is usually a switch. This is the write-protect switch. When this write-protect switch is in the down position (away from the end that is inserted) then it is write protected and read-only. When the switch is in the up position it is write enabled.
