Hi there,

The simple and honest answer is probably not. This remote has very few codes and will only work with a small number of devices.

As the code listed for DirecTV receivers didn't work, you could try the codes for other brands of satellite receivers. There are only ten of them (00 to 09) so it wouldn't take long! DirecTV receivers have been made by several different manufacturers in the past - Pace, Thomson, LG (Zenith) - but they still use codes listed for DirecTV rather than codes listed for the original manufacturer. Code 08 for Zenith (LG) may be worth a shot on the off-chance that your receiver was made by LG and will respond to this code. It's highly unlikely though.

If none of the Satellite receiver codes work, then the remote wont work with your receiver. It's not really a universal remote and it does not have a code search or learning feature and cannot be updated with additional codes. Hitachi simply included a small number of codes for the most common devices in use at the time your TV was on sale. Devices manufactured later are unlikely to be controllable with this remote.

If you want to have one remote to control your TV and DirecTV receiver, you would probably have more success programming the DirecTV remote to operate your TV. The other alternative would be to buy a universal remote that will work with both. If you would like assistance with this, please let me know the model number of your DirecTV receiver and/or remote control. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

Hope this helps - probably not the answer you were hoping for though.

Regards,
BElectric

New RC64 will NOT setup with R16-500 Direct TV DVR

The Direct TV remote control I'm currently using is a RC64RB I guess the RB stands for radio broadcast? I learned from researching on the internet that the Direct TV DVR receiver has a different setting for each type of remote. The "RB" remote (the one I'm currently using) has an FCC sticker on the back. Direct TV sent me the wrong type of remote control. AND they have wasted hours of my time. The DT technician that I sought answers from is an idiot!!
