Yes me too exactly. I dropped the remote and then the TV went off. The remote would not turn it back on so finally I pushed the power button, it clicked on green (as if it's turning on per the usual) then it clicked right off after a second. I've changed the remote batteries and tried over and over to manually turn the TV back on. I hope someone has a solution. Fingers crossed. Thanks!

ok sir you have defective power supply at hot side section! and the
power oscillstion circuit! your unit need to diagnos to know the exact
defective parts!
Th convergance amps have failed you will half to replace them, or have it done parts are around 70 dollars not and easy fix on a pioneer time consuming
This site has a manual that may specify the type of lamp. The manual costs something, with no guarantee you'll find what you want. http://www.manualuniverse.com/manager/products/catalogue.asp
Select brand "Pioneer" and enter the model "SDP5795W" then click Find; on the next page click on the model number SDP5795W to go through to the page that lists the manuals. One is a service/repair manual that I expect would have information about the lamp or bulbs.
The TV is more than 10 years old, and with "planned obsolescence" it may be hard to even get lamps now. All the very best of luck.
Unplug the TV for maybe 10 minutes, then turn it on. Sometimes these units simply need to recycle. If that doesn't work, you've likely got serious problems.
I wouldn't trust anything this repairman said reason well for one thing how could he (or anyone) tell everything else is "in perfect condition" when he couldn't "see" anything to tell what it looked like. He might be right about the power supply being bad But it could also be the high voltage "power supply" could have a short and that would cause the symptions you describe But if you want to try the power supply your self you can call Pioneer and give them the model number and they should be able to get the information you need. tvkirk
wait a minute you wanted me to pay you to tell me how to fix it... now you want me to tell you how i did it ...no thanks ...well for 9.99 a month ill tell you...no thanks
the problem with pioneer projection tvs is that when they made the boards they never used enough solder for the circuits and you get cracks in the runs. thats why heat and cold will effect it. I had the same problem and I took out the board and resoldered every track I could and it works good now but my remote wont work if anyone has any info or prints to this tv please post on here
