I have a GE Nautilus that appears as it's getting no power because when you pull the lever over, none of the lights come on.. It's hard wired so we know that isn't the problem, and we've checked the breaker box to see if the breaker has been tripped and that's not the case either.. We looked for a thermal fuse thinking that might be it, but couldn't find one..

SOURCE: GE Nautilus 4800 Dishwasher/Shuts off/ No water draining out

It may be the motor start capacitor or the motor or the wiring to it. Some units have a built-in switch that shuts the unit off if the motor doesn't start turning after a short interval. However, if it drains it usually means the motor runs enough to pump it out. These units usually stop draining when the fill switch opens at the lower level.

SOURCE: no water entering

age of unit? type of use ie: heavy - 3 loads a day, or light - 3 loads a week. that will clue us to likely culprit.

breaker tripping suggests excessive amperage. if you have 120 v at the solenoid valve then the valve is bad. you also might have a clogged line. if you turned the water off in the house for something, and the plumbing is older galvanized, there is often 'sanding' of fixtures that causes problems with toilets most often, but anything with a filter. that could clog the valve, but not very likely.
the timer is a board. do not have schematics, but usually easy to locate because the wiring eminates from there to the pump, the inlet valve, and the door soap disp. look for arc markings where you can see. a mirror will help.
the element could have overheated and tripped the breaker but that would not stop if from filling.
i suspect its the power supply to the timer region that is likely the cause. check the obvious / easy first. then test the voltage on the sol valve.
the manual may be downloadable from ge. not sure.
good luck

Yes, open it. You'll probably find a broken or loose belt.

The hood lever is stuck inside the car. Tried pushing hood done etc. stuck in an outback town in NT. Need to change the dead battery!

Push hood back down hard, then pull on
hood release hard again. If not work, trace wire
inside as far as you can and get grips or pliers
and pul from as far up the line as you can.If it
opens as it should, you can easily unattache wire
from pull handle put a knot in wire, this will shorten it
so easier to undo next time.Infact you might try that first.
If none work which I doubt, get push to start and drive
to garage.LUCK

GE Nautilus dishwasher isn't draining... PLEASE HELP

Check floater valve.

Inside the unit. On the floor. Looks like and small upside down cup.

If it is jammed in the up position it will stop the machine. Lift, clean underneath. It should drop and the machine will run.

The float valve stops the machine from over filling.

Could also be clog in the drain filter. Remove the cover from the drain inside the unit. look for clog in the filer of the drain.

If none of the above it is the timer. The timer tells the unit what to do (fill, run, empty). If it is not working the drain function will not run.

Our ge nautilus dishwasher has the lock light and delay light on and we can't figure how to reset

Unplug or switch off the circuit breaker for a couple of minutes. Sometimes, these machines are sensitive to power blips and just like your computer need to be re-booted.

Dishwasher won't start

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Wiring
Timer or selector switch
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

GE Nautilus 24" Built-in won't turn on

Take phillips screws out to seperate door and check door latch switch(es). Also inspect wires as they pass into door for broken wire, and check the wire nut connections where power enters dishwasher. (Hold a wire nut and tug on each wire to make sure none are loose.)
