Same problem with my 5 year old WS-55511. The power light will come on for 3 seconds then go off. I have tried holding the device and menu buttons, but I do not get any code at all. I read else where that there was a possibility that the capacitors on the DM Module could be bad and may need to be replaced - I did that, but did not have any success. I don't mind replacing components on a board, but I wonder if I should just look for a new TV? Any other suggestions?

Press in together the menu button and the Device/input button on the set and hold them both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led will blink a two digit error code, then respond to this same post and let me know if it gave a error code and what the two digits were.

I'm having the same problem... my ws-55511 was working fine then it shut off. I've tried turning it on several times to no avail. When I unplug the tv and let it sit for 3 minutes, it still will not power up. I tired holding the menu button and Device button on the set together for 5 seconds to see if a two digit error code will blink, but nothing does.... the little green light flashes a few times, but nothing on the screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.....

Mitsubishi ws 55511 replace convergance ci and now set wont power up doesnt stay on long enough to get trouble codes

How did you get at the part/s? remove chassis or just the center board? I suspect something happened when you repaired the set.

Does the self check which even if set does not come on, power light comes on for a few seconds and goes off, do the self check (let me know if you need to know how) and see what blink code the power light gives.

WS-55511 shut itself down while watching TV and won't come back on again. I tried unplugging and reconnecting, it goes through the reset (green light blinking). The convergence went bad and the chip was...

After you turn on and green power light comes on and then goes out:

Press and hold both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it 4 more times.

Let me know what error code and I will tell you what it means. If this information told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

When you turn the tv on it go right back off Mitsubishi WS-55511 55 in. It about (5)yrs old I have try unplugging the tv for about 3 to 5 minute

Do this: When you turn it on and the green power light comes on and goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both.

This model has a self check: The green power light will then blink a two digit error code: most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat the error code at least 5 times.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.

I hope you get 2,2 as it is the most easy to resolve.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

A question to which you have the answer?

Hi if its a Lcd or Dlp rptv most likely its time to replace the lamp if tv is between 2-4 yrs.If you hear clicking it could be the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Make sure fans are running ok ,dust them out if they are dirty.God bless you!

Mitsubishi ws-55511 does not turn on

Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.
